Colossians 1:9-12. And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,  so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;  giving thanks  to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

As we, the committee, finalized our vision to go along with our mission, we read and discussed Paul’s prayer for the Colossian church. We were encouraged and emboldened by Paul’s request for them. His request for the Colossian congregation is immense and boundless and yet he pursues it confidently because he is relying on the most powerful tool available to him, prayer! This is a great example for us to do the same for our congregation in this time of transition. We would like to think that, just like Paul, we too, since the day we were tasked to find a new senior pastor for Sycamore, have not ceased to pray for you, asking for great spiritual growth and a deep sense of awe for God
