Donnie Clinton

Hello, my name is Donnie Clinton Jr. and I’ve been on staff at Sycamore since July of 2023. Veronica, my wife, and I moved from St. Louis, Missouri to serve God’s church in Midlothian. Youth ministry has always been dear to me since the Lord used a faithful youth pastor to draw me to himself in high school. After that, I went to Cincinnati Christian University where I studied Advanced Biblical Studies.

Feeling the Lord’s call on my life to pursue ministry, another faithful youth pastor recommended I go to Covenant Theological Seminary for my master’s in divinity, which I graduated from in 2019. In the years after college, I had the joy of working with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. But it was clear to me that the Lord wanted me in ministry, so I served as a youth director of a lovely little church in Webster Groves, Missouri before the Lord called my wife and I to Sycamore.

The Lord has given me a love for theology and a love for student ministry. My favorite thing about student ministry at Sycamore is the opportunity, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to unravel the manifold mysteries and beauty of the Gospel with my students. I also enjoy getting to beat kids at games.

When I’m not serving at Sycamore, I enjoy exploring Midlothian looking for the best restaurants. My favorite thing to do in my spare time is read theology or play pickleball. In the mornings you can find me in my sunroom enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee and listening to a sermon.
