Faith Cray
Administrative Assistant to Youth and Children
I was born in Woodbridge, Virginia, and moved to Midlothian when I was three years old so my dad could be on staff at a church in the area. Growing up, my dad worked in ministry, and my mom was a saint, as she homeschooled me and my seven siblings K-12.
I began coming to Sycamore at the beginning of 2020, which is around the time I first began feeling a passion for ministry. The first ministry event I attended was through a friend of mine and their youth group. We were passing out food and doing street evangelism in Richmond City. I had never done anything like it before, so in the moment, I had little to no idea what I was doing. But by the time it ended, I was so excited about ministry that I felt like I was on fire. Shortly after, I enrolled at Cornerstone College of Virginia and began pursuing a degree in Biblical studies. I worked at a kid’s retreat center called Watermarks during this period. Working at Watermarks helped me discover my passion for youth ministry.
During the summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to intern with the Kids Ministry here at Sycamore. I enjoyed the experience so much that halfway through the summer, I began praying that one day, there would be an opportunity for me to work at the church again. I am so excited to be here and feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to do what I love here at my own church.
While I am not at Sycamore or studying, you might find me cooking. This could be making a coffee with my espresso machine or making pesto from the basil plant I have out back for the hundredth time. I love making coffee for people, so if you’re a lover of coffee too, I would love to hangout and make you one of my favorite drinks!
